Makerbot Replicator

The wait is over. There is finally a product for the designer in all of us!

How many times have you thought of a great idea or design for a tangible object, but had no idea how it would come to fruition? I’m sure you’ve had more than one, like many of us.

The Makerbot Replicator allows your design ideas to literally become reality. The replicator is a personalized manufacturing machine that uses spun plastic filaments to create 3D objects. In terms of custom manufacturing the possibilities are endless, and if you can design it, you can create it.

Makerbot also offers their own design software which can make designing that much easier. The idea behind Makerbot is genius and allows all of us to make our dreams a reality.

Eames Molded Plastic Chairs

If you are a regular reader of our blog, you know that we love anything Eames. The contributions that Charles and Ray Eames made to fields or architecture and industrial design are no doubt amazing, but their biggest contribution of all is probably the introduction of the Eames lounge chair in 1956.

We have profiled the Eames lounge chair in past blog posts, so today we are going to showcase the Eames molded plastic chair. These chairs were the first plastic chairs to be industrially manufactured. Today their classic design has been revamped with eco-friendly materials, and they are now offered in a large selection of base, shell, and color combinations.
